This page will provide you with information on the booking process, our pet sitter vetting process as well as information on While Away sitter's accreditation badges. We aim to ensure quality service, and peace of mind while you are away. All our clients and sitters are verified before introduction.
Step 1: Visit our website and determine which sitter you would prefer | Go check out our list of awesome sitters under "Our Sitters" and click to view their profiles. (Remember if you select a sitter outside their service areas, additional km's will apply).
Step 2: Head over to our "Bookings" tab and fill out your information or simply complete our online bookings form. Please note that if you are a first time client you will be required to submit a copy of your ID and proof of residence.
Step 3: Once you have submitted your booking, we will send you a formal quote and RTS (Request To Sit) form - indicating the sit details as well as the sitter's details.
Step 4: The sitter will arrange the meet & greet with you.
Step 5: Make full payment to While Away | House & Pet Sitting, 24 hours before your departure. Sitter will only be paid upon your return and submission of the review form.
Our sitters have passed our Pet Sitter Verification, providing you with peace of mind. Although most sitters have ample previous experience, sitters are provided with detailed information on tasks and possible requirements to be discussed with the client during the meet and greet session. For more information on how our sitters are selected, refer to the "Become a Sitter" section.

This badge indicates that the sitter has been booked for more than 3 recurring visits at the same client in a 12 month rolling period while registered at While Away. This badge is a good indication of the quality of service that this sitter provides.
This badge indicates that the sitter is willing to look after your reptiles and exotic pets, because let's be serious not all fur lovers are good with scale babies. If a sitter has this badge, he or she has previously looked after exotic animals such as reptiles (lizards and snakes) and arachnids (spiders and scorpions). If you struggle to find a sitter with this badge, feel free to contact us!
